I tend to read quotes on a daily basis. Every year my mom gives my brothers and me a calendar for Christmas. It's been a tradition since I can remember. Well, for the past two Christmas' she's given me a calendar of quotes. I love it. It has a quote for each day. I guess I'll just reflect on one of those quotes.
"I was always looking outside myself for strength and confidence, but it comes from within. It is there all the time." -Anna Freud
It's amazing how little we know ourselves until something triggers what's deep inside of us forcing who we are to show itself. This quote is very true. I find it hard to discover, when I'm looking elsewhere, the strength to endure through something difficult at the time. It's usually when I least expect it, for that strength to show itself completely out of nowhere. It's then I realized that it had been there all along. Sometimes it takes a struggle to bring out the best in us. I find that if I rely on faith that I will overcome anything, then my weaknesses will become strengths to help me endure through my hardships. I guess I just have to be willing to take that leap. It will never be easy, but it's worth it. Another quote I go by is this: "Life is hard if you live it easy, but easy if you live it hard." -Anonymous
